Kosta Runjaić has publicly cautioned goalkeeper Maduka Okoye over a match-costing error against Torino, while maintaining that the Nigerian international has the talent to become one of Serie A’s elite shot-stoppers.
Udinese manager Kosta Runjaić has issued a firm reminder to goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, emphasizing that high-level errors carry steep consequences following a costly blunder in their recent Serie A defeat against Torino.
Addressing the media ahead of Sunday’s league clash with Lecce, Runjaić revealed he held a direct discussion with the Nigerian international regarding his decision-making during the fixture at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

He asserted that with maximum dedication and consistency, Okoye possesses the technical capacity to rank among the top five goalkeepers in Italian football.
After the reprimand , Okoye went on to have an eventful afternoon between the sticks as Udinese suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Lecce, although he was his side’s standout player, making eight saves.
