Pakistan joining 78 debutants at inaugural World Cup in Baku
Pakistan joins 77 other footballing nations in making their historic first appearance at a global FIFA competition as the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival kicks off in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival officially commences in Baku, Azerbaijan, marking a landmark moment for global youth football with 78 member associations making their debut in a FIFA World Cup event across any age category or gender.
Running from October 24 through October 30, the six-day global festival brings together 189 national teams for a celebration focused on youth development, cultural integration, and international exposure.
Tailored for players born in 2011 and 2012, the tournament prioritizes participation over pure competitive outcomes.
Every squad is guaranteed multiple fixtures throughout the schedule, competing in an modified eight-a-side format with two 20-minute halves on smaller pitches with rolling substitutions.
Matches will predominantly take place at the Hövsan Competition Complex, while the iconic Baku Crystal Hall serves as the stage for the opening ceremony and tier finals.
Beyond competitive action, participants staying in a shared Athletes’ Village will take part in educational workshops and interaction sessions with FIFA Legends.
This boys’ edition will be followed by a girls’ festival in 2027 before transitioning into an annual event calendar starting in 2028.
