Newcastle accept £3m penalty and suspended fine in UEFA settlement
Newcastle United have reached a settlement with UEFA to pay an immediate €6 million in penalties following breaches of Football Earnings thresholds and the 70% Squad Cost Ratio limit.
Newcastle United have officially finalized a three-year settlement agreement with UEFA’s Club Financial Control Body after breaching Financial Sustainability Regulations.
The Premier League club exceeded the established Football Earnings threshold for the assessment period ending in June 2025.
Consequently, the Magpies have accepted an immediate €3 million financial penalty, alongside an additional €7 million fine that remains suspended subject to future regulatory compliance.
Furthermore, European football’s governing body has ordered Newcastle to pay an extra €3 million sanction.
This separate penalty was issued after the club exceeded UEFA’s strict 70% Squad Cost Ratio limit during the 2025 calendar year.
In an official statement, Newcastle United leadership expressed appreciation to UEFA for their deliberation and formally committed the club to maintaining full financial compliance moving forward.
