Jürgen Klopp signals readiness to become next Germany manager
The German Football Association (DFB) has confirmed it will open contract talks with Jürgen Klopp after Julian Nagelsmann resigned following a disappointing 2026 World Cup campaign.
Jürgen Klopp has formally informed the German Football Association (DFB) of his readiness to become the new manager of the Germany national team.
This swift development follows the immediate resignation of Julian Nagelsmann, who stepped down after Die Mannschaft’s disappointing round-of-32 exit to Paraguay at the World Cup.
The federation confirmed that official discussions with the former Liverpool boss are now underway. While Klopp currently serves as the Global Head of Soccer for the Red Bull group, his long-term contract contains a specific, pre-negotiated exit clause allowing him to depart for the national team post.
The 59-year-old manager is highly eager to return to the dugout. Both parties are now expected to finalize financial terms and structure his incoming backroom coaching staff.
