This is more games than any other male player has ever played in the tournament. Messi will start in the attack alongside striker Lautaro Martinez. This means that Julian Alvarez will have to start the game on the bench. Meanwhile, Cape Verde has some lineup changes of their own. Midfielder Telmo Arcanjo starts on the bench because he is still recovering from a leg injury. However, the team gets a big boost as defender Sidny Lopes Cabral returns from his suspension to start the game at left-back.
