Esther Okoronkwo has come under criticism after a video allegedly showing her filming and mocking a Moroccan mother and her disabled child circulated online during the 2026 WAFCON.
Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo is facing criticism on social media after a viral post alleged she filmed a Moroccan mother carrying her disabled child and mocked the encounter while Nigeria is competing at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The claims have prompted calls from some Moroccan social media users for disciplinary action, including suspension, although no official complaint has been publicly confirmed.
The allegations surfaced during the tournament in Morocco, where Nigeria began its campaign as the defending champions and Africa’s most successful side.
Esther Okoronkwo recently reported thefts in the Super Falcons’s hotel rooms in Casablanca, where she confirmed loss of money on her side and a couple of her teammates.
