Hamza Abdelkarim scored twice on his unofficial Barcelona debut, but Birmingham City defeated the Spanish champions 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in their pre-season friendly.

Young striker Hamza Abdelkarim bagged a brace on his unofficial Barcelona debut but couldn’t prevent a penalty shootout loss to Birmingham City.

The match finished 2-2 in normal time with the Championship club scoring through August Priske and Jhon Solis either side of the Egyptian’s brace.

Roony Bardghji, Jordi Pesquer and Brian Farinas failed to convert their spot kicks as Birmingham won 3-2 in the shootout.

Karim Adeyemi also made his debut while Marc Bernal, Andreas Christensen, Marc Casado and Gerard Martin all get valuable minutes.
