Kylian Mbappé produced a stunning hat-trick as Real Madrid overwhelmed Real Sociedad 4-1 to give José Mourinho two wins from his opening two La Liga matches.
Kylian Mbappé stole the spotlight at the Santiago Bernabéu with a hat-trick as Real Madrid secured an impressive 4-1 victory over Real Sociedad, giving José Mourinho a perfect start to his second spell at the club.
The French forward opened the scoring in the 40th minute after producing a brilliant first touch before finding the net, although Luka Sučić quickly brought Sociedad level before half-time.
Madrid raised their tempo after the break, with Mbappé restoring the advantage before Vinícius Júnior extended the lead following a determined move involving Jude Bellingham. Mbappé completed his treble in the 80th minute with a composed finish after being released by Vinícius.
The result represents a significant improvement from Madrid’s narrow opening-day victory over Espanyol and gives Mourinho six points from his first two league games.
Jude Bellingham was also influential throughout the contest, contributing two assists as Madrid eventually found a way through a disciplined Sociedad defence.
The victory also provided the Bernabéu faithful with an early glimpse of the attacking potential available to Mourinho, with Mbappé, Vinícius and Bellingham all playing decisive roles.
Real Madrid now move forward with growing confidence after beginning Mourinho’s return with consecutive victories, while Mbappé has immediately established himself as the central figure in the club’s attacking charge.
