Manchester City have completed the signing of Palmeiras winger Allan Elias in a deal that could eventually reach £34.2 million, adding another young attacking option to Enzo Maresca’s rapidly changing squad.
The 22-year-old Brazilian has agreed a five-year contract after City committed an initial £32m, with a further £2.2m available through performance-related bonuses.
Elias arrives following Savinho’s £75m transfer to Tottenham, filling the vacancy created by the Brazilian’s departure from the Etihad.
The move represents another significant investment in a summer of major reconstruction for City, who have already spent heavily on Elliot Anderson and Ayyoub Bouaddi as Maresca puts his own stamp on the squad.
Elias developed through Palmeiras’ academy before breaking into the senior side and made 96 appearances, registering nine goals and 12 assists during his time with the Brazilian club.
His ability to operate from the right gives City another option in wide areas as they prepare for a demanding campaign.
Elias has described joining City as the proudest moment of his life, highlighting the club’s recent success and the opportunity to develop at one of Europe’s leading teams.
His arrival also underlines City’s continued interest in recruiting players capable of contributing immediately while retaining long-term development potential.
The club are not expected to stop there, with reports indicating interest in Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo and Everton attacker Iliman Ndiaye as the transfer deadline approaches.
City have also been active in the outgoing market, with Savinho among several players to leave during a summer of substantial squad turnover.
Allan’s signing therefore marks more than a straightforward replacement; it is another piece of Maresca’s broader rebuilding project as City seek to establish a new attacking identity.
