Over 2,000 fans with banning orders must hand in passports ahead of World Cup

SKY SPORTS REPORT

Over 2,000 fans with banning orders must hand in passports ahead of World Cup

Published Entry Strategy Track — 2-JUN-2026

More than two thousand three hundred football fans must hand in their passports to the police before the World Cup starts. All of these people have football banning orders because of bad behavior at games in the past. This strict rule will stop them from traveling to the tournament. If they do not give their passports to the police, they could face a big fine or go to prison. The government wants to make sure there is no violence at the games. Police officers will keep the passports until the tournament is over. This is a major effort to stop troublemakers from ruining the World Cup for other fans. Anyone who tries to break the rules will be arrested.
