Lamine Yamal books private jet for 2026 Ballon d’Or Gala as Paris celebration awaits
Lamine Yamal is reportedly preparing to attend Monday’s Ballon d’Or ceremony in London with his entourage, with a celebration in Paris planned should he win football’s top individual honour.
Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has reportedly booked a private jet to transport members of his entourage to London for Monday’s 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony, with plans for a celebration in Paris should he win the prestigious award.
The 19-year-old is expected to attend the gala alongside people from his inner circle, while preparations have reportedly been made for a party in the French capital if he claims the coveted trophy.
However, Yamal faces strong competition for the honour, with Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane and Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé, the former who has emerged as the leading contender in recent betting markets.
Kane enjoyed an outstanding campaign for club and country, strengthening his case for a maiden Ballon d’Or.
Yamal, meanwhile, has built a compelling case of his own after helping Barcelona retain the La Liga title and playing a key role in Spain’s World Cup triumph. He also remains in contention for the Kopa Trophy, awarded to the best young player.
The Barcelona winger finished second behind Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembélé in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings, making this year’s ceremony another opportunity to secure football’s biggest individual prize.
The 2026 edition will take place at the London Palladium on October 26, marking the first time the ceremony has been staged in London as the award celebrates its 70th anniversary.
Whether Yamal’s preparations end in celebration or disappointment will be decided when the winner is announced.
