Piero Hincapié completes permanent move to Arsenal
Arsenal have exercised the buy option in Piero Hincapié’s loan deal to sign the Ecuadorian defender permanently from Bayer Leverkusen for around £45 million.
Arsenal have completed the permanent signing of Ecuadorian defender Piero Hincapié from Bayer Leverkusen.
The Gunners exercised the buy option included in his season-long loan agreement from last summer, paying the fee to secure the 24-year-old on a long-term deal.
Hincapié impressed during his loan spell at the Emirates, establishing himself as a regular under Mikel Arteta and contributing to Arsenal’s 2025-26 Premier League title-winning campaign.
The move ends speculation over his future and strengthens the club’s defensive options.
