Real Madrid trigger €9m Nico Paz buyback, issue €60m deadline to Como
Real Madrid have activated their €9 million buyback clause for Nico Paz and handed Como a strict Monday deadline to re-sign the midfielder permanently for €60 million, failing which he will be marketed to other suitors.
Real Madrid have officially notified Serie A side Como that they will exercise their €9 million buyback clause for Argentine midfielder Nico Paz.
The Spanish giants have moved decisively to activate the option embedded in the 21-year-old’s 2024 transfer agreement, regaining complete control over his future following his breakout performances in Italy.
In tandem with triggering the clause, Los Blancos have handed Como an ultimatum to retain their talisman permanently for a staggering €60 million fee by Monday.
Should the Lombardy-based club fail to meet this steep financial demand before the deadline, Paz will immediately be made available to external international suitors for a package exceeding €60 million.
If Como are unable to re-sign the playmaker, they will reportedly secure a guaranteed €10 million windfall from the final fee when Real Madrid sell him elsewhere.
This strategic payout ensures the Italian outfit receives a financial cushion while Madrid actively seek a highly lucrative bidding war on the open market, with rival European clubs heavily linked.
