Trump official confirms U.S won 2031 Women’s World Cup host bid

A White House official says FIFA has informed President Donald Trump that the United States will host the 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup, although football’s governing body has yet to make an official announcement.

The United States and its Concacaf partners are expected to host the 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup after White House official Andrew Giuliani claimed FIFA had informed President Donald Trump that the joint bid had been selected.

FIFA has not officially confirmed the hosts, but the U.S.-led bid remains the only candidate under consideration.

The proposed tournament would mark the third Women’s World Cup hosted by the United States after 1999 and 2003, alongside co-hosts Mexico, Costa Rica and Jamaica.

Giuliani also said discussions over government guarantees could include FIFA’s transgender eligibility policy, while football’s governing body currently leaves player eligibility to national federations.
