Following Argentina’s 1-0 defeat to Spain in the 2026 World Cup final, supporter Gisela Sanchez launched a Change.org petition urging FIFA to order a rematch.

Citing controversial decisions by Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić, including Enzo Fernández’s red card, the campaign quickly surpassed 80,000 signatures.

Despite the massive online momentum, football regulations provide no legal standing for petitions to alter official tournament results.

While neither petition carries any regulatory authority over FIFA, the digital feud highlights deep divisions among international fanbases.
