Gusto linked with City as Chelsea close in on Palestra
Manchester City have held transfer talks with Malo Gusto’s camp over a £45 million move as Chelsea prepare to replace the French right-back with Atalanta’s Marco Palestra.
Manchester City have initiated formal discussions with the representatives of Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto regarding a potential summer transfer to the Etihad Stadium.
Incoming City manager Enzo Maresca is reportedly driving the push to reunite with the 23-year-old French defender, whom he previously coached during his tenure in London.
The potential departure comes as Chelsea advance on a €50 million deal to sign highly-rated Italian wing-back Marco Palestra from Atalanta.
With the Stamford Bridge hierarchy valuing Gusto at approximately £45 million, the Blues appear willing to sanction the defender’s exit to rebalance their squad ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.
