The Court of Arbitration for Sport has scheduled an October 8 private hearing to resolve Senegal’s legal challenge against the Confederation of African Football and Morocco regarding the disputed forfeiture of the 2025 AFCON title.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has officially scheduled a pivotal hearing for October 8 to determine the rightful winner of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The legal battle pits the Senegalese Football Federation against both the Confederation of African Football and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.

This arbitration centers on Senegal’s formal challenge to overturn a controversial CAF ruling. Continental football authorities previously declared that the Senegalese squad forfeited the dramatic final match, subsequently awarding the championship trophy and a 3-0 victory to host nation Morocco.

Because the involved national bodies failed to reach a consensus on expediting the case, proceedings are moving forward along a standard judicial timeline.

Officials confirmed that the upcoming courtroom arguments will be held behind closed doors, after which an appointed panel will begin private deliberations.
