Ajax Close In On Tolu Arokodare as Wolves Exit Nears

Ajax are closing in on Tolu Arokodare from Wolves, with Fabrizio Romano reporting a club-to-club agreement done: a loan with a buy option in a package worth just over €20m.

Ajax sources confirm the Nigerian striker was a priority target, and only final details remain.

The move follows a breakdown at Wolves, where Arokodare was excluded from pre-season training after a reported fine for a teammate confrontation.

Ajax beat out competition from Fiorentina, Genoa, and Trabzonspor, with Romano adding that Ajax will cover his wages in full and the buy option isn’t mandatory, Wolves will also get bonuses tied to Ajax’s European qualification.

At 1.97m, he brings physical presence Ajax want up front, joining new signing Marcos Leonardo as their second striker addition this summer, likely pushing Kasper Dolberg toward the exit.

With terms largely settled, this deal looks close to done before the season starts.
