Mykhailo Mudryk is eligible to play for Chelsea again after the Court of Arbitration for Sport partially upheld his appeal against a four-year doping ban.
Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been cleared to resume playing after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) partially upheld his appeal against a four-year doping suspension.
The Ukraine international is travelling to Hong Kong to join Chelsea’s pre-season tour, ending a 20-month absence from competitive football.
The Football Association confirmed the anti-doping proceedings had been resolved through an agreement with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
Mudryk accepted responsibility for anti-doping rule violations and a period of ineligibility, but the CAS ruling allows him to return immediately under the revised outcome.
The FA revealed that Mudryk was originally handed a four-year suspension by an independent regulatory commission after a hearing in January 2026.
He subsequently appealed to CAS, with the case reviewed following updates to WADA’s Technical Document governing meldonium reporting thresholds.
According to the FA, the updated WADA technical guidance means the concentration of meldonium found in Mudryk’s sample would no longer trigger an anti-doping rule violation if tested under the current standards.
The ruling clears the way for the 25-year-old to rejoin Chelsea’s squad ahead of the new season.
