The Belgian midfielder’s fitness struggles since his £58million move from Southampton in 2023 have been well documented, with persistent hamstring, thigh and muscle injuries repeatedly interrupting his time at Stamford Bridge.
Lavia’s last full match anywhere came for Southampton against Fulham in the Premier League on May 13, 2023, more than three years ago.
He has managed just over 30 appearances for Chelsea since his transfer, often being substituted early as the club sought to manage his workload and protect him from further setbacks.
