Mika Godts joins PSG in €55m move as Barcola’s future comes under scrutiny
Paris Saint-Germain have strengthened their attacking options with Mika Godts’ €55 million arrival from Ajax, potentially increasing uncertainty over Bradley Barcola’s future in Paris.
Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Belgian winger Mika Godts from Ajax in a deal worth up to €55 million, adding another exciting attacking option to Luis Enrique’s squad ahead of the new season.
The 21-year-old has agreed a five-year contract with the European champions after establishing himself as one of Ajax’s standout players, with his performances attracting significant attention across Europe.
The transfer was reported as a €55 million package, including potential add-ons, and represents another major investment by PSG in their attacking department.
Godts’ arrival comes shortly after PSG strengthened their forward line with Ferran Torres, who joined from Barcelona in a deal reportedly worth around €50 million.
The growing competition for attacking places could have consequences for Bradley Barcola, whose future has become one of the major transfer stories surrounding the French champions.
Liverpool have identified the France international as a leading target and have already held discussions with his representatives, although PSG’s valuation remains a significant obstacle.
Reports confirmed that Barcola is valued by PSG at approximately €150 million, while the player is understood to be open to a move to Anfield.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has also refused to completely rule out a departure, ensuring speculation over Barcola’s future will continue as the transfer window approaches its conclusion.
For PSG, however, Godts’ arrival underlines their determination to maintain considerable depth in attack while continuing to compete for domestic and European honours.
The Belgian winger now faces the challenge of adapting quickly to a considerably higher level of competition, with expectations high following his impressive spell in Amsterdam.
