Aaron Ramsey appointed coach of Oxford United
Former Arsenal and Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been appointed as the new head coach of Oxford United, marking the first permanent managerial role of his career following the club’s relegation to League One.
League One outfit Oxford United have officially appointed former Wales captain Aaron Ramsey as their new men’s team head coach.
The 35-year-old succeeds Matt Bloomfield, who parted ways with the club following their recent relegation from the EFL Championship. Ramsey, who only retired from professional football in April, impressed the club’s leadership with his tactical vision during extensive talks.
This appointment marks the first permanent managerial position for the former Arsenal and Juventus midfielder.
Ramsey previously gained brief touchline experience as an interim manager at Cardiff City and as a coach with the Welsh national setup. He stated that he has prepared for this transition for many years, aiming to build a squad anchored on elite, hard-working habits.
