Bournemouth agrees loan deal for Juventus’s Di Gregorio with buy option
Bournemouth have reached an agreement to sign Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio on loan, with a €14 million option to make the move permanent.
Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio is set to join Bournemouth after the two clubs reached an agreement over a season-long loan, marking another major change in the Italian club’s goalkeeping department.
The deal is understood to be a paid loan containing a non-mandatory €14 million option to buy, according to reports from Italy and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
Di Gregorio is expected to travel to England to complete the formalities before beginning his new chapter in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old arrived at Juventus after establishing himself as one of Serie A’s leading goalkeepers at Monza, where he was named the league’s best goalkeeper for the 2023-24 season.
His spell in Turin, however, has become increasingly difficult, with Juventus now reshaping their goalkeeping options after bringing in Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham on loan with a purchase option.
Di Gregorio made 84 competitive appearances for Juventus and kept 36 clean sheets, but his departure follows a campaign in which his performances came under scrutiny.
Bournemouth’s move gives the Italian goalkeeper an opportunity to revive his reputation in England, while the Cherries have protected themselves by making the €14 million purchase clause optional rather than obligatory.
The transfer also forms part of a wider overhaul at Juventus, with Mattia Perin reportedly heading towards an exit as the Turin side restructure their options between the posts.
