FFF files lawsuit over Celeste Amarilla’s racist abuse of Kylian Mbappé
The French Football Federation has launched a formal criminal complaint against Paraguayan Senator Celeste Amarilla following her inflammatory and racist social media tirade targeting France captain Kylian Mbappé after their World Cup match.
The French Football Federation (FFF) has announced strict legal actions against Paraguayan Senator Celeste Amarilla following her xenophobic remarks directed at forward Kylian Mbappé.
The slur-filled tirade on social media erupted after France eliminated Paraguay from the World Cup with a hard-fought 1-0 victory on Saturday. Branding the slurs “abhorrent,” the FFF confirmed it is escalating the matter directly to the public prosecutor’s office.
Meanwhile, Mbappé aggressively fired back online, branding the lawmaker a “despicable woman” who is completely unworthy of her political standing.
The Paraguayan government has swiftly distanced itself from the politician, formally deploring her rhetoric while emphasizing that her statements do not reflect national values.
Despite the toxic digital fallout, the French national team remains strictly focused on preparing for their upcoming tournament quarterfinal clash.
