FIFA has reportedly broken traditional protocol by granting U.S. President Donald Trump permission to directly present and lift the World Cup trophy alongside the winning team at the 2026 tournament final.

According to prominent sports journalist Ben Jacobs, soccer’s governing body will bypass historical protocol for the tournament final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium. Trump will present the iconic prize alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
