Liverpool set to sign Bradley Barcola after £120 million total package agreement with PSG
Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain for the signing of French winger Bradley Barcola in a deal that could rise to £120 million.
Liverpool are closing in on one of the biggest transfers of the summer after reportedly reaching an agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain for Bradley Barcola in a package worth around £120 million.
The proposed deal would see the 23-year-old France international become a major part of Liverpool’s attacking rebuild, with more than £100 million understood to be guaranteed and the remaining details still being negotiated.
Barcola has emerged as Liverpool’s preferred wide attacking target following the departure of Mohamed Salah and has reportedly made it clear that he does not intend to extend his current PSG contract.
His situation in Paris has also become increasingly uncertain after he was left out of the squad for the club’s opening league fixture, while competition for attacking places has intensified.
Liverpool’s interest has been persistent throughout the summer, although negotiations have taken time because of PSG’s high valuation of the winger.
Recent reports indicate that the French champions have gradually softened their asking price, with discussions now centred around the £115m-£120m region.
Barcola would arrive at Anfield after an impressive spell in Paris, where he contributed 13 goals and seven assists last season and played an important role in PSG’s domestic and European success. His ability to operate from either flank also gives Liverpool additional flexibility in attack.
The potential transfer could have wider consequences for the squad, particularly Cody Gakpo, who has attracted interest from Tottenham and Manchester City.
Liverpool must still complete the paperwork and finalise the outstanding terms before Barcola can officially become a Reds player, but the latest breakthrough represents a significant step towards bringing the highly rated winger to Anfield.
