Luis De La Fuente finally speak the truth about World Cup Lamine Yamal
Spain coach Luis de la Fuente believes Lamine Yamal is yet to produce his best performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup but is confident the teenage star will make a decisive impact.
Spain coach Luis de la Fuente has insisted the football world has not yet seen the best of Lamine Yamal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite the teenager’s key role in La Roja’s run to the latter stages of the tournament.
Speaking ahead of Spain’s next outing, De la Fuente suggested Yamal still has another level to reach and believes that moment is close.
“We haven’t seen a match from the real Lamine Yamal in this World Cup yet. I’m just leaving that here,” the Spain coach said.
De la Fuente added that the Barcelona winger is highly motivated and ready to deliver when it matters most.
“I know he’s very motivated. I’m sure he’s going to leave a mark at this World Cup,” he said.
Spain will now look to Yamal as they continue their quest for World Cup glory, with De la Fuente expressing full confidence that the youngster will produce a defining performance in the tournament.
