Manchester City refuse to meet Chelsea’s £75m Malo Gusto valuation
Manchester City have refused to meet Chelsea’s £75 million valuation for defender Malo Gusto, putting a potential summer transfer on hold unless the Stamford Bridge club lowers its financial demands.
Manchester City have informed Chelsea that they will not meet the steep £75 million price tag placed on full-back Malo Gusto.
New Citizens manager Enzo Maresca is a strong admirer of the French defender, having worked with him closely in London last season. However, Etihad executives have taken a firm stance against paying what they perceive as an inflated premium.
The potential summer transfer has now reached a complete standstill despite Gusto reportedly agreeing to personal terms for a northern move.
Unless Chelsea lowers their financial expectations later in the transfer window, or Manchester City decides to walk away and pursue alternative full-back targets, the 23-year-old defender will remain at Stamford Bridge under Xabi Alonso’s extensive tactical setup.
