Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that superstar forward Neymar Jr. will return to the squad for Wednesday’s final FIFA World Cup Group C fixture against Scotland.
Speaking after Brazil’s commanding 3-0 victory over Haiti on Friday, Ancelotti outlined a meticulous recovery schedule designed to integrate the veteran playmaker back into competitive action following an extended spell on the sidelines.
The 34-year-old forward has been out of action since sustaining a right calf injury while playing for Brazilian club Santos on May 17, subsequently forcing him to miss the Seleção’s opening World Cup matches against Morocco and Haiti.
Ancelotti revealed that Brazil’s all-time top scorer will undergo isolated physical training on Saturday before resuming full sessions with the main squad ahead of the decisive clash in Miami.
