Real Madrid comfirms Kylian Mbappé’s return date following latest injury
Real Madrid have received encouraging news over Kylian Mbappe’s knee injury, with reports indicating the forward should be available when club football resumes.
Real Madrid have received encouraging news over Kylian Mbappe after the France captain suffered a knee injury during Friday’s Nations League victory over Turkey.
Mbappe opened the scoring in France’s 1-0 win but was forced off shortly afterwards after appearing to hurt his left knee while taking the shot.
Real Madrid subsequently confirmed that medical tests had detected a hyperextension of the posterior capsule of his left knee, although the club stopped short of announcing a recovery timeline.
Reports from Spain, however, suggest the injury is less serious than initially feared, with El País reporting that Mbappe could recover within 10 to 12 days.
A separate report from COPE, relayed by Managing Madrid, also indicates that the 27-year-old is expected to be available for Madrid’s next LaLiga fixture following the international break. The update will come as a relief to Madrid, particularly with a demanding period ahead and a meeting with Barcelona approaching.
Mbappe’s early withdrawal from the France camp also means he will have additional time to recover rather than risk aggravating the problem during the remainder of the international window.
France coach Zinedine Zidane had initially admitted that the injury did not look encouraging, but subsequent examinations have provided a more positive picture.
Madrid will nevertheless be expected to monitor Mbappe closely before determining how quickly he can return to full competitive intensity. With the club’s medical report stating that his condition remains subject to further evaluation, his precise comeback arrangements have not been formally confirmed.
