REVEALED: True cause of Lionel Messi’s father death
Jorge Messi, father and long-time agent of Lionel Messi, has died at 68 in Rosario after a battle with pancreatic cancer, according to multiple Argentine and international media outlets.
Jorge Messi, father and longtime agent of Argentine superstar Lionel Messi, has died at the age of 68 following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
He passed away Friday evening at a hospital in Rosario, his and his son’s hometown, according to consistent reports from Argentine and international outlets.
Concerns over Jorge’s health first surfaced publicly during the World Cup, after Messi broke down in tears following his hat-trick against Algeria.
“It had nothing to do with sports. I’ve been through some difficult and complicated days,” he said at the time, though the family had only described the illness as a private medical matter under treatment.
Beyond fatherhood, Jorge served as his son’s trusted advisor throughout his career, orchestrating Messi’s high-profile moves from Barcelona to PSG and later to Inter Miami, where the 39-year-old continues to play.
