REVEALED: Why Akor Adams is joining Venezia
Reports questioning Akor Adams’ ambition over his move to Venezia overlook that the Serie A club offered a better fee, wages, and long-term project than any of his other suitors.
Reports suggesting Akor Adams lacks ambition by joining newly promoted Venezia over other suitors do not reflect the full picture of his transfer from Sevilla.
Sevilla, under pressure to comply with La Liga’s financial regulations, needed to sell this summer. The club reduced their asking price from an initial €25-30 million valuation to around €15-16 million to get a deal completed.
While other clubs, including Marseille and sides from the Saudi Pro League, showed interest in the Nigeria international, none came close to matching Venezia’s offer.
The Serie A newcomers offered a better fee paid upfront to Sevilla, superior personal terms for the player, and a contract running until June 2030, making Adams the most expensive signing in Venezia’s history.
Venezia’s sporting director Filippo Antonelli travelled personally to Seville to finalise the agreement, underlining the club’s determination to land their top target ahead of the new season.
Sources close to the deal insist the move reflects Venezia’s superior package rather than any lack of ambition on Adams’ part, with the player set to become the club’s undisputed first-choice striker under a long-term project built around him.

I also thought he didn’t do well with that move but I understand now
Impressive 👏👏👏
