Serie A newcomers set to appoint worst Premier League coach ahead of 2026-27 season
Ivan Jurić has agreed to become the new head coach of Serie A side Monza, returning to Italian football following a disastrous, record-breaking relegation spell with Premier League outfit Southampton.
AC Monza have finalized an agreement to appoint Ivan Jurić as their new manager to lead the upcoming Serie A campaign.
The 50-year-old Croatian tactician has accepted all contract conditions laid out by the club hierarchy, which features former midfielder Pedro Obiang stepping in as the new sporting director.
Jurić arrives aiming to rebuild his heavily damaged reputation following an incredibly turbulent 18-month period across Europe.
The manager’s return to Italy comes after he statistically solidified himself as the worst coach in Premier League history during a catastrophic 108-day spell at Southampton.
Jurić suffered a horrific 12 defeats in 14 matches, confirming the Saints’ relegation with seven games to spare. Monza are banking on his previous success at Torino, deliberately overlooking his disastrous English expedition and subsequent sacking at Atalanta.
