Thomas Tuchel aims a slight dig at FIFA rules following World Cup pitch-side blunder
England manager Thomas Tuchel has publicly urged FIFA to reposition pitchside photographers after a “wall” of media members entirely blocked his view of his squad during the national anthems of their World Cup opening match.
England head coach Thomas Tuchel has issued an urgent plea to football’s governing body, FIFA, to review pitchside media positioning.
Speaking after England’s 4-2 World Cup opening victory over Croatia, the German tactician revealed his highly anticipated pre-match moment was compromised.
He expressed deep frustration that a massive wall of photographers completely obstructed his view of the team on the pitch.”I’m begging FIFA to change the position of the photographers in the national anthem,” Tuchel stated.
The manager explained that he was eagerly waiting for the special moment, only to find himself facing roughly 50 photographers. He noted that he could not see a single player, emphasizing that the layout ruined an experience he considered deeply emotional and meaningful.
