Liverpool defender Milos Kerkez scored his first senior international goal as Hungary secured a 1-0 Nations League victory over Georgia in Budapest.

The 22-year-old headed home Dániel Lukács’ cross in the 35th minute, registering his maiden goal for Hungary in his 35th senior appearance.

The result gave Hungary their first victory of the Nations League campaign after a defeat to Ukraine and a draw with Northern Ireland.

Kerkez also received a second yellow card of the competition, meaning he will miss Monday’s meeting with Ukraine.

The suspension could give Liverpool an extended rest period before their next Premier League fixture.
