What Mikel Arteta say about Arsenal’s move for Vinicius Jr
Mikel Arteta remained tight-lipped over Arsenal’s reported interest in Vinicius Junior while confirming the club is still pursuing new signings.
Mikel Arteta refused to be drawn on Arsenal’s reported pursuit of Vinicius Junior but insisted the Premier League champions remain active in the transfer market.
The Gunners have already strengthened with Piero Hincapie, Illan Meslier and Christos Tzolis, while Bruno Guimaraes and Vinicius continue to be linked with moves to north London.
Speaking after fresh reports of progress in Arsenal’s pursuit of the Brazil international, Arteta said the club is working hard to improve the squad and expects more transfer activity before the window closes.
When asked directly whether Vinicius would join Arsenal, the Spaniard smiled and walked away without offering a response.
According to Football365, citing reports from The Independent and ESPN, Arsenal have reportedly outlined personal terms with Vinicius, although Real Madrid and the player still prefer to continue together.
ESPN adds that Madrid could consider a sale if no agreement is reached on a contract extension, with the winger entering the final year of his current deal.
