Gabriel Jesus faces an uncertain future at Arsenal with the transfer deadline approaching, but former Gunners winger Willian has advised his compatriot to resist a return to Brazilian football and instead seek another opportunity in England.
The 29-year-old striker has fallen down Mikel Arteta’s attacking pecking order following recurring injury problems and the arrival of new forwards, while Arsenal are reportedly willing to consider offers for him.
Jesus has not featured competitively this season and has recently been training separately from the main squad as Arteta attempts to reduce the size of his group.
Palmeiras have been linked with a move for their former academy star, although a return to Brazil is understood to be less attractive to the player than remaining in European football.
Earlier reports have also linked Jesus with interest from Napoli and other clubs, with the forward’s preference reportedly leaning towards staying in England if a suitable move becomes available.
Willian’s advice is shaped by his own experience after leaving Arsenal for Corinthians in 2021.
