Victor Osimhen turned down super agent Jorge Mendes’ approach, Real and Barcelona prospects
Victor Osimhen has reportedly rejected an approach from Jorge Mendes’ representatives, insisting that he is satisfied at Galatasaray and prefers to continue working with his lawyer.
Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has reportedly rejected an offer from renowned football agent Jorge Mendes, choosing to maintain his current arrangement rather than pursue a new representation deal.
The development emerged after Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük reported that Umberto Saldavor, an adviser to Mendes, travelled to Istanbul three weeks ago to meet the Nigerian striker.
During the meeting, Saldavor reportedly sought to convince Osimhen of the opportunities available through Mendes’ extensive connections in European football, including potential moves to Barcelona or Real Madrid.
However, the 27-year-old reportedly declined the proposal, making his satisfaction with life at Galatasaray clear.
“Barcelona, Real Madrid, whichever you want, I can take you there.”
Osimhen’s reported response was equally direct: “I only work with my lawyer, I’m happy at Galatasaray.”
Mendes previously represented Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo and has developed a reputation as one of football’s most influential agents, with connections across Europe’s leading clubs.
Galatasaray remain Osimhen’s priority
Osimhen’s decision comes after he established himself as a key figure at Galatasaray, having initially joined the Turkish champions on loan from Napoli for the 2024–25 season.
His impressive performances persuaded the Istanbul club to complete a permanent transfer in July 2025 for €75 million, making him the most expensive signing in Turkish football history.
The deal secured the Nigerian international on a four-year contract beginning with the 2025–26 campaign.
Osimhen has continued to attract interest from major European sides and wealthy Saudi Arabian clubs, with reports previously linking him to offers worth between €120 million and €130 million.
Nevertheless, his reported rejection of Mendes’ approach suggests that securing a new agent or exploring an immediate transfer is not currently his priority.
For Galatasaray, retaining a striker of Osimhen’s quality would represent a significant boost as the club pursues domestic and European ambitions.
