Ferran Torres’ Grandfather dislikes Barcelona, predicts World Cup slump
In a viral RTVE interview, Ferran Torres’ grandfather candidly admitted his dislike for Barcelona and cheekily expressed that he would rather see his grandson play for their rivals, Levante.
The grandfather of Spain and FC Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has gone viral across social media after delivering a hilariously blunt television interview.
Speaking to broadcaster RTVE during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the elderly family member unreservedly targeted his grandson’s current club, stating he does not like Barcelona and would much prefer the 26-year-old attacker to lace up for Levante instead.
The unapologetic assessment raised eyebrows in Spain, considering Torres was famously developed in Valencia’s academy—making Levante their direct local city rivals.
The grandfather didn’t stop at club football either, adding that he was not particularly excited about Spain’s World Cup prospects following an opening-game draw with Cape Verde, bluntly concluding that his grandson struggles to score even with external assistance.
