Mauro Icardi and Wanda Nara divorce battle escalates with fresh accusations
Mauro Icardi and Wanda Nara have intensified their public divorce dispute with conflicting claims over financial support, child custody and the future of their daughters.
The highly publicised divorce battle between Mauro Icardi and Wanda Nara has taken another dramatic turn after the Argentine striker publicly disclosed what he claimed were the financial demands made by his estranged wife during their legal proceedings.
According to Icardi, Nara requested €250,000 per month in personal maintenance, €65,000 monthly for the care of their two daughters and a further €100,000 per month as divorce compensation.
The former Paris Saint-Germain and Galatasaray forward said the Italian court rejected every one of those requests before later dismissing an appeal, presenting the outcome as a legal victory in the ongoing dispute.
Nara swiftly challenged his version of events, insisting that child support has not yet been conclusively determined and will instead be settled when the divorce reaches its final ruling.
She also launched a personal attack on Icardi, claiming she remains employed while he is currently without a club, adding that support payments are inevitable and urging him to find a new team before fulfilling what she described as his responsibilities as a father.
Beyond the financial disagreement, Nara accused Icardi of preventing their daughters from returning to Argentina, alleging that the children want to resume school, reunite with relatives and regain stability after months of uncertainty.
She further alleged that his actions have subjected them to “more violence, more mistreatment and more pain,” claims that have further intensified the public nature of a separation already filled with legal and emotional disputes.
The latest exchange is another chapter in one of football’s most closely followed relationships, which began amid enormous controversy more than a decade ago.
In 2013, Nara separated from former Argentina international Maxi López, who was not only her husband but also Icardi’s teammate and close friend at Sampdoria.
Their relationship with Icardi quickly became public, fuelling accusations that the striker had pursued Nara while she was still married to López, creating one of football’s most infamous personal fallouts.
Although both Icardi and Nara denied wrongdoing and later married in 2014, the circumstances surrounding the beginning of their relationship permanently damaged Icardi’s friendship with López and became a defining storyline throughout his career.
More than a decade later, with their marriage ending in court, the former couple’s disagreements over finances, custody and parenting continue to unfold publicly, ensuring that a relationship once surrounded by controversy remains firmly in the spotlight.
