Lagos set to host 2026 CAF Awards as Nigeria returns to centre stage
Lagos will host the 2026 CAF Awards on December 7, putting Nigeria at the heart of African football’s end-of-year celebrations.
Lagos has officially been confirmed as the host city for the 2026 CAF Awards, with the prestigious ceremony scheduled for Monday, December 7.
The Confederation of African Football approved the date during an Executive Committee meeting chaired by president Patrice Motsepe on October 2.
The ceremony will be held at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Iganmu, formerly known as the National Theatre.
It will bring together leading players, coaches, administrators and other major figures from across African football. Lagos has previously hosted the awards in 2008, 2013 and 2014, making this the fourth edition staged in the city.
The event will form part of a busy CAF calendar for Nigeria. Abuja is scheduled to host the organisation’s Ordinary General Assembly on November 21, with the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre serving as the venue.
The two events will give Nigeria a prominent role in continental football activities towards the end of 2026.
