NSC boosts Super Falcons with increased goal bonuses ahead of WAFCON knockouts
Following their quarterfinal qualification at the ongoing WAFCON tournament, the National Sports Commission has raised the Super Falcons’ goal bonuses and approved full match payouts to inspire the team ahead of their clash against Cameroon.
The National Sports Commission has announced a major financial boost for the Super Falcons following their qualification for the knockout stages of the ongoing Women Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Under the leadership of Chairman Shehu Dikko, the commission elevated the per-goal incentive from five thousand dollars to ten thousand dollars to further reward the players’ attacking efficiency.
Adding to this momentum, private sector support coordinated through the Comptroller-General of Customs has matched the initiative with an additional ten thousand dollars for every goal scored.
Consequently, the national women’s team is set to reap a massive financial reward of one hundred and twenty thousand dollars specifically for their impressive six-goal victory over Egypt.
In a parallel demonstration of strong administrative backing, the sports commission directed the football federation to disburse full match bonuses for all three group fixtures.
This approval covers victories against Zambia and Egypt alongside the hard-fought encounter with Malawi, ensuring the squad receives complete financial recognition despite minor setbacks.
These proactive welfare measures are expected to serve as massive psychological motivation as the Super Falcons prepare to face fierce rivals Cameroon in the quarterfinals.
