Liverpool Player Ratings: 8/10 Muñoz stars but Dutch duo flop in frustrating Forest draw
Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by Nottingham Forest at Anfield, leaving the Reds still searching for their first Premier League win two rounds into the campaign.
Dan Ndoye and Morgan Gibbs-White twice gave Forest the advantage, but Alexander Isak and Victor Muñoz responded to earn Liverpool a point.
Liverpool Player Ratings
Alisson – 6/10
Made an important save before the interval to deny Igor Jesus, but was beaten to the ball when rushing out and conceded the penalty that restored Forest’s lead.
Jeremie Frimpong – 4/10
Attacked with intent but was vulnerable defensively, particularly at the far post. Forest repeatedly found opportunities down his side.
Jeremy Jacquet – 7/10
Liverpool’s standout defender, making several timely interventions and showing composure when Forest threatened early in the match.
Virgil van Dijk – 4/10
Struggled to impose control on the defence as Liverpool repeatedly lost their shape. Could not prevent either Forest goal.
Milos Kerkez – 5/10
Had problems containing Forest’s attacks from the right and offered little going forward before being replaced in the second half.
Alexis Mac Allister – 7/10
Produced some neat passing, including an excellent early ball for Gakpo. Remained composed in midfield and worked diligently throughout.
Dominik Szoboszlai – 6/10
Had a quieter outing than usual but remained reliable in possession. Later moved into the right-back position to help Liverpool’s reshuffle as they chase the game.
Florian Wirtz – 7/10
Found the net with a composed finish, only for the effort to be disallowed after an offside decision in the build-up.
Cody Gakpo – 7/10
Showed excellent individual skill to escape two defenders before supplying the pass for Isak’s equaliser. Failed to track his man for Ndoye’s opener.
Alexander Isak – 7/10
Was largely anonymous early on but reacted well to Gakpo’s pass, scoring his first-half deficit leveller and offering Liverpool renewed hope. It was his seventh goal in as many games against the visitors.
Victor Muñoz – 8/10
Liverpool’s brightest attacking player, producing a powerful finish into the top corner to rescue a point for the hosts. Munoz was a constant threat down the wings on his first Premier League start.
Substitutes
Kostas Tsimikas – 6/10
Provided a composed performance after replacing Kerkez and strengthened Liverpool’s presence on the left.
Rio Ngumoha – 6/10
Returned on the left wing but struggled to get sufficiently involved during his brief appearance.
Ryan Gravenberch – 6/10
Injected energy and physicality into Liverpool’s midfield after coming on.
Ronald Araújo – 5/10
Had little opportunity to influence the game and was booked shortly after his introduction.
Trey Nyoni – N/A
Entered during the closing stages and had too little time to make a significant contribution.
