Arsenal face another anxious wait after Christos Tzolis adds to injury woes
Arsenal face another anxious wait over Christos Tzolis after the winger was forced off injured during Greece’s Nations League meeting with the Netherlands.
Arsenal have been handed another worrying injury scare after Christos Tzolis was forced out of Greece’s Nations League clash with the Netherlands after just 18 minutes.
The 24-year-old winger had made a lively start in Thessaloniki and briefly celebrated opening the scoring before the effort was ruled out for offside.
Tzolis then went down clutching his leg and required treatment before it became clear he could not continue.
He was replaced by Giorgos Masouras, leaving Arsenal facing another anxious wait over one of their attacking options.
Tzolis joined the Gunners from Club Brugge for around £34m in July and had already impressed during his first months in north London.
The latest setback comes after Kai Havertz also suffered a suspected hamstring problem on international duty, adding further concern for Mikel Arteta ahead of Arsenal’s return to Premier League action.
