Arsenal complete signing of Georgian sensational winger Andria Bartishvili

Arsenal have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Georgian teenager Andria Bartishvili for €4.5 million, with the midfielder scheduled to undergo his medical in London before signing a five-year contract.

Arsenal have taken another step towards securing one of Georgia’s most promising young footballers after reportedly agreeing a €4.5 million deal for 17-year-old midfielder Andria Bartishvili.

The transfer, confirmed by prominent transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, is expected to see the teenager complete his medical in London on September 1 before putting pen to paper on a five-year contract.

Bartishvili, who currently plays for Iberia 1999 on loan from Kolkheti 1913, will not officially join Arsenal until 2027, when he turns 18, in line with international transfer regulations for minors.

The Gunners are understood to have moved ahead of competition for the youngster, with Liverpool among the clubs previously linked with his signature.

Arsenal’s interest in Bartishvili has been building for several months, with reports in June indicating that the north London club had already been working on a deal for the Georgian prospect.

The midfielder has attracted attention with his progress through Georgia’s youth ranks and has already gained senior experience despite his age.

He made his top-flight debut for Kolkheti 1913 in April 2025 at just 16 and has since continued his development with Iberia.

His 2026 campaign has included appearances in European competition, underlining the level of experience he is gaining before a potential move to England.

Bartishvili has also represented Georgia at several youth levels, including the Under-17 and Under-21 teams, and has frequently been compared with compatriot Khvicha Kvaratskhelia because of his attacking qualities and potential.

Kvaratskhelia’s emergence from Georgian football into one of Europe’s leading attackers has naturally intensified interest in the country’s next generation of prospects.

For Arsenal, the reported agreement represents another investment in long-term recruitment, with Bartishvili expected to continue his development before eventually linking up with the club in 2027.
