Chelsea launch €45m bid for Ligue 1 star as Manu Koné move hits roadblock
Chelsea have made a €45 million proposal Ligue 1 side AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara as they prepare for a possible Enzo Fernández departure to Manchester City.
Chelsea have formally tested Monaco’s resolve with a €45 million package for midfielder Lamine Camara as the Blues continue preparations for a possible Enzo Fernández departure to Manchester City.
The offer is understood to have fallen short of Monaco’s valuation, although negotiations remain active and Camara is reportedly keen on making the move to Stamford Bridge.
The Senegal international has emerged as one of Chelsea’s preferred midfield options, particularly with City now in discussions over Fernández.
Chelsea have also explored a move for Roma midfielder Manu Koné, but Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini considers the Frenchman an important member of his squad and is resisting any attempt to sell him.
With the transfer deadline approaching, Chelsea’s midfield plans could therefore depend heavily on whether Fernández leaves, while Camara represents the club’s most advanced alternative. Monaco signed Camara from Metz in 2024 on a five-year contract.
