Manchester United are in the race to sign £45 million French midfielder Manu Koné, though Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Chelsea are still actively pursuing the player.

Manchester United has reportedly set their sights on a £45 million signing of French midfielder Manu Koné, currently competing at the World Cup after their pursuit of Atalanta’s Ederson collapsed.

United aims to secure the 25-year-old to play alongside recent acquisitions Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos in an overhauled midfield under Michael Carrick.

However, Aston Villa and Chelsea remain heavily linked with a swoop for the energetic midfielder.
