Liam Rosenior opens up on why he failed at Chelsea
New Paris FC boss Liam Rosenior has reflected candidly on his brief, turbulent spell at Chelsea, admitting mistakes while wishing Xabi Alonso’s side well as he begins his next chapter in Ligue 1.
Liam Rosenior has reflected on his short-lived Chelsea tenure, acknowledging he “joined the club in the middle of a season and at a difficult moment” after replacing Enzo Maresca in January.
He said he “learned many lessons” from the experience, which ended in his sacking in April following a run of five straight defeats without scoring.
The 41-year-old admitted room for improvement, saying “there are things I definitely could have done better and things I could have taken more accountability for,” while insisting positives also emerged from his 106-day spell.
He praised successor Xabi Alonso, calling him “a fantastic manager” and saying he’d continue following Chelsea’s results closely.
Rosenior, now in charge at Paris FC on a contract until 2028, said the Chelsea experience would shape his new project.
“Those lessons I take from Chelsea will help me in this role,” he said, adding he hopes to help transform Paris FC into “a very big club in world football” during his tenure in the French capital.
