Liverpool Set the Pace in Barcola Chase as PSG Winger Snubs New Deal
Liverpool are the club most seriously chasing Bradley Barcola, and the picture has cleared up further in the last 24 hours as Fabrizio Romano confirmed the PSG winger has decided against signing a new contract in Paris, with Liverpool now top of his list of suitors.
Reports also dismiss any real Barcelona interest, framing this as essentially a two-way Liverpool-Arsenal race, with Liverpool the club pushing hardest.
The sticking point is fee, not desire. PSG have set a €150m valuation on the 23 year-old, and Liverpool have already had at least two opening approaches turned down as club-to-club talks continue.
Barcola’s output backs up the price tag as he was PSG’s top league scorer last season and contributed 21 goals across all competitions the year before, in a treble-winning campaign under Luis Enrique.
With the contract question now settled in Liverpool’s favour, Barcola wants out, not a renewal and the deal’s fate rests on whether Liverpool are willing to meet, or work around PSG’s asking price before the window shuts.
