MLS probes Inter Miami over certain right in Casemiro saga
Major League Soccer is investigating Inter Miami for alleged tampering regarding discovery rights following their signing of former Manchester United midfielder Casemiro.
Major League Soccer has launched an official investigation into Inter Miami following allegations of tampering regarding their acquisition of veteran Brazilian midfielder Casemiro.
The 34-year-old recently left Manchester United and signed a deal through the 2027 campaign with Miami. However, league officials immediately announced a formal review into the circumstances surrounding his discovery priority rights.
The inquiry centers on how Miami secured first refusal rights for the player from the LA Galaxy. While both clubs confirmed a settlement was reached, the final terms remain withheld pending the outcome of the MLS probe.
Inter Miami previously faced severe sanctions and fines in 2021 for breaking roster rules during the controversial signing of Blaise Matuidi.
